Two Common Mistakes we See in the Deadlift

The deadlift has been called the king of strength training and the list of benefits and muscle groups could fill a small book. But they’re also a ton of common mistakes people make when starting to deadlift.

The first is people often are scared of bending at the hip fearing they’re going to injure their back. This can be true but it’s if we’re doing it wrong!

When done correctly, this is actually the opposite! We want you to think about hinging at the hip when going to pick up the bar and not keeping your chest too high.

The second is the obvious rounding of the back, you’ll notice in the video I described it as a dog popping, which doesn’t look great.

To combat this we want to think about keeping our shoulder blades pinned together and our chest down this creates a good position for a nice straight back.

Check out if you do injure your back and how to come back from it!
